This is my third podcast for today and in like the studio day of my butt hurts you guys didn't need to know that, but yeah. So first up, Three famous Poultergeist cases that will creep you out. Oh yeah, chairs move by themselves, wall shake from loud unexplained banging, water drips from a ceiling. Hair brushes disappear for days only to reappear in their place on the dresser. There are some of the These are some of the classic symptoms of a poltergeist haunting from the German for noisy ghost. A Poultergeist refers to phenomena usually credited to mischievous spirits or ghosts, and are characterized as psychokinesis or other physical manifestations. Although ghosts may sometimes be involved, most poultergeist incidents are kind of of psychic phenomena, usually centered around a living agent. Cases have been cited almost since the beginning of recorded history. Three famous cases have taken place in the twentieth century, gaining notoriety, perhaps because they have been extensively investigated, reported, and in some cases even photographed and videotaped. First up, that's one I have not heard of and probably should have. The Thornton Health pol Yeah, health poultergeist in the nineteen seventies and Thornton Heath ah seah, I knew that was a type of It's Thornton Heath, not Health peeps. So the Thornton Heath Poultergeist. In the nineteen seventies. In Thornton Heath, England, a family was tormented by poltergeist phenomena that started one August night when they were woken in the middle of the night by a blaring bedside radio. That sucks, but that could be the alarm right, that's how the old school alarm clock radios worked. So this radio had somehow turned itself on tuned to a foreign language station. This was the beginning of a string of events that lasted nearly four years. A lamp shade repeatedly was knocked to the floor by unaided hands during the Christmas season of nineteen seventy two. An ornament was hurled across the room, smashing into the husband's forehead, it blows as he flopped into an armchair. Reports haunted Croydon. The Christmas tree began to shake violently come the new year, and there were footsteps in the bedroom when there was no one there, And one night the couple's son awoke to f and a man in old fashioned dress staring threateningly at him. The family's fear grew when as they entertained friends one night, there was a loud knocking at the front door. The living room door was then flung open and all the house's lights came on. Having the house blessed failed to rid the house of the phenomenon. Objects flew through the air, loud noises were heard, and the family would sometimes hear a noise was suggested some large piece of furniture had crashed to the floor. When they went to investigate, nothing would be disturbed. Phantom sounds wow. A medium who was consulted told the family that the house was haunted by a farmer of the name Chatterton, who considered the family trespassers on his property. An investigation bore out the fact that chatter And had indeed lived in the house in the mid eighteenth century. Chatterton's wife now joined in by causing in causing mayhem, and often the tenant's wife could be followed up the stairs at night by an elderly gray haired woman wearing a pin of four. I'm not sure what that is. You guys can help me out, Help me out, and with her hair tied back in a bun sexy. If looked at, she would disappear back into the shadows. The family even reported seeing the farmer appear on the television screens. Yikes. He was wearing a black jacket with wide pointed lapels, high necked shirt in black cravat. Again, help me out. After the family moved out of the house, the Poultergey's activity ceased, and none have been report by subsequent residents. Ain't it always the way? So next up the Enfield poltergeist case. This is a famous case another English ghost, this one in Enfield in North London, made headlines in nineteen seventy seven. The strange activities seemed to center around the daughter of Peggy Harper, a divorce e in her mid forties. Again, it started on in August night, late at night. An urban ghost story relates Janet Age eleven and her brother Pete Age ten complained that their beds were jolted up and down and going all funny. As soon as Missus Harper got to the room, the movements had stopped. As far as she was concerned, her kids were making it all up. Darn kids. But things got progressively more bizarre from there. Shuffling, noises and knocks on the wall were followed by a heavy chest of drawers sliding by itself across the floor. Missus Harper promptly got her children out of the house and sought the assistance of a neighbor. The neighbors searched the house and the garden, but found no one. Soon they also heard the knocks on the walls, which continued at spaced out intervals. At eleven pm, they called the police, who heard the knocks. One officer even Sawdshair inexplicably move across the floor, and later signed a written statement to confirm the events. Brave guy could ruin your career, man, But Bobby's are probably used to that. England's just it's such an old, you know country, right, thousand year old buildings, eight hundred year old buildings, et cetera. Men, those people are probably used to ghosts. Several people were witnesses to the events that occurred. In the following days. Lego, bricks and marbles were thrown around the house and were often hot to the touch. In September of that year, Maurice Gross of the Society for Physical Research came to investigate. Now. Gross claims that he experienced the strange happenings. First of marble was thrown at him from an unseen hand. He saw doors open and closed by themselves, and claimed to feel a sudden breeze that seemed to move up from his feet to his head. Gross was later joined in the investigation by writer Guy Leon Playfair, and together they studied the case for two years. That's an extent of extensive investigation. The knocking on the walls and floors became an almost nightly occurrence. Furniture slid across the floor and was thrown down the stairs. Drawers were wrenched out of dressing tables, toys and other objects would fly across the room. Bedclothes would be pulled off. Not cool water was found in mysterious puddles on the floors. And that's a common theme. I wonder with these English poltergeis. It seems to be a lot of puddles involved. Perhaps that that would probably be a puddle of pea. In my case, I'd probably put a puddle of pea on the floor right, not down with this stuff. There were outbreaks of fire, followed by the inexpsplicable excuse me extinguishing. The case became decidedly unnerving when the spirits revealed themselves through Janet. That's a daughter, always the young a young girl involved in these cases, a swear man. Even the belt which it was the focal point of Kate bats or you know whatever you want to call that spirit, which ghost poltergeist? Speaking in a deep, gravelly voice, the spirit announced that his name was Bill and had died in the house, a fact that has been verified. Don't du now. The voices in the phenomenon have been recorded on tape and film, and Playfair has written a book about the case called This House Is Haunted. Despite the documentation, however, much controversy surrounds the case. Skeptics claim that the case is nothing more than the work of a very clever and mischievous, mischievous girl, Janet, And we need some healthy dos of skepticism is good for sure. The Poultergeist activity always stopped when she was watched closely, and when she was taken to a hospital for seven days, several days to be tested for physical or mental abnormal abnormality, the phenomena ceased in the house or you know poltergeist cases, classic ones, young girl hitting puberty. She you know, all these changes, these significant changes in her I guess body, you know, hitting puberty and growing. You know, a lot of people attribute portergeist to that type of energy. So if she was indeed gone out of that that that area, then maybe it would cease. Or maybe she was just smarter than the investigators and was having fun. I don't know. Some researchers believe that Janet taught herself to speak in this range male voice, in that photos of her levitating in the bedroom merely caught her jumping off the bed. I could see that was this Poultergeist case just the result of an attention seeking eleven year old. I could buy some of that, like the photo and maybe the voice. But you know, if heavy dressers are getting thrown downstairs or moved, and you know, I don't think the little boy would watch his sister move these things and still be frightened, and I don't know some of those things could be real. Next up the Danny Poltergeist case. In nineteen ninety eight, Jane Fishman, a reporter for the Savannah Morning News, began a series of articles about a possible haunted antique bed in the home of Al Cobb of Savannah, Georgia. Now. Cob bought the vintage late eighteen hundred's bed at an auction as a Christmas present for his fourteen year old son. Yay, I mean, what fourteen year old wants a vintage bed for Christmas? Man? So his son's name's Jason, a purchase he later regretted, should regret that. Three nights later, Fishman reported, Jason told his parents he felt as if someone had planted elbows on his pillow and was watching him in breathing cold air down the back of his neck. He felt sick. The next night, he noticed the photo of his deceased grandparents on his wickered night stand flipped down, so he righted it. The next day, the photo was facing down again. Now. Later that morning, after leaving his room for breakfast, he returned and found in the middle of his bed to beanie babies. The zebra and the tiger, next to a conk shell, a dinosaur made of shells, and a plaster two can bird. So all of those things, those items were on his bed. Now that God is his parents' attention and his twin brother Lee's attention. Trying to make sense of the irrational, Al called out, do we have a casper here? Never? Good, dude, don't even acknowledge it. He continues by saying, tell me your name and how old you are. Then he left some lined composition paper in krans and with his family walked out of the room now and they returned fifteen minutes later and found written vertically in large block childlike letters, Danny next is the numeral seven, the number seven. Now, with his family out of the house, Al Cobb decided to continue trying to communicate with the spirit of Danny with the same kind of notes. Danny indicated that his mother had died in that bed in eighteen ninety nine and that he wanted to stay with the bed. He also made it clear that he didn't want anyone else sleeping in it. The same day, they found a note reading no one sleep in bed now Jason, who had moved out of the room, decided to stretch out and pretend to take a nap. That says al was a mistake. I doubled back in the room to pick up my clothes, remembers Jason, when this terra cotta head that had been hanging on the wall came flying through the room, just missing me before it smashed on the closet door. No one really knows, Fishman writes in her second instance, who or what is leaving the copious notes, moving to furniture, opening the kitchen drawers, setting the dining room table that's helpful, Flipping over the chairs not helpful. Lighting the candles that's bad. Arranging the posters to spell out a person's name. I'm not sure I understand that one Jill. Hmm, person's name being Jill, then hanging the finished product on a bedroom wall. Jason also spoke of other spirits, Uncle Sam, who had come to reclaim his daughter he said was buried under the house, Gracie, a young girl whose sculpture sits in Bonaventure Cemetery, and Jill, a young woman who left a number of handwritten messages, among them one inviting the Cobs to a party in their living room. Now paras psychologist Andrew Nichols, head of the Florida Society for Parapsychology Research, investigated the case. What happened at the Cobbs, he told Fishman, more specifically to Jason, would have happened without Danny or the bed. It was the electro magnetic energy of the wall that Jason started sleeping next to when they moved the bed there that charged a psychic ability that the boy had already had. I don't know if I buy it. Any of it sounds kind of sketch man. You guys can tell me what you think in the comments where you can just email me at Crazy Strange Days spelled Daze Days at gmail dot com. Let me know, all right, Number two, this is everyone's favorite. I absolutely get creeped out when I hear these stories and anything really to do with these critters. Black eyed children real or just a creepy myth. There are dozens of stories pale kids with black, soulless eyes knocking on people's front doors and begging to be let in. But are the tales plausible. For the first time I noticed their eyes, they were coal black, no pupil, no iris. Those words come from an American journalist na named Brian Bethel. If anybody's ever heard of black eyed kids, well, this is possibly the creator or the first real account put to pen and paper. I think he first appeared on some creepy pasta with this story. I'm not sure, but later wrote about it, and it's a good story for sure creepy. On January sixteenth, nineteen ninety eight, Bethel posted on an online message board describing his apparent encounter with a pair of creepy children who had solid black eyes. Again not a fan. Since then, dozens of people have claimed sightings of similar children, but Bethel's case remains the most famous. Earlier this year, he count recounted the experience in an article for Reporter News. It happened on a warm night in nineteen ninety six. Bethel needed to pay his internet bill, so he was writing a check in his car the good old days. There was a knock on my driver's side window. Bethel says. Two young boys somewhere between nine and twelve years old and dressed in hooded pullovers stood outside. I cracked the window a bit, anticipating a spiel for money, but I was immediately gripped by an uncomprehensible, soul racking fear. I had no idea why now. One of the boys asked Bethel for a ride. They wanted to see a movie, but had left their money at their mother's house. While Bethel molded over, the boy tried to reassure him it wouldn't take long. They were two little kids. They didn't have a gun or anything. The reporter looked away for a moment. When Bethel's gaze returned to the children, his mind exploded in a vortex of all consuming terror. Both boys stared at me with coal black eyes, the sort of eyes one sees these days on aliens or bargain basement vampires on late night television, soulless orbs like two great swaths of starless night. As Bethel rolled up his window, one of the boys banged on the glass, saying, we can't come in unless you tell us it's okay. Let us in. The journalist drove away. Bethel isn't the only person with a creepy tail involving the black eyed children. The internet is full of similar stories. Reddit user Sarah Beth eleven says she was sitting alone in her family room when there was a knock on the front door. Two young children were outside, a girl who looked about eleven and a boy who was roughly nine. The girl very politely spoke up, ma'am, can we please come inside and use your phone to call mom? As she spoke, something in the pit of my stomach was telling me something was wrong, Sarah said. After a short exchange, the girl moved towards the door. She stepped into the light coming from inside the house, and I got my first real look at her solid jet black eyes. That is all I could see. That motherly instinct was gone and replaced by terror. I don't think I've ever felt in my life, Sarah says. I could feel every hair on my arms and back of my neck standing at attention. I closed the door to where just my face was able to stick out. The little girl stopped again and pleaded, please, ma'am, we're really scared and alone out here. We have to come inside. Please help us. Then, like on cue, both kids began to whimper and cry. And it's creepy. Another Reddit user aptly named no Sleep twenty twelve also claims to have encountered black eyed children on her doorstep. She had a voice that was mature, confident, strong, in accentless, She says. She held her head tilted downward and I couldn't see her eyes. She said, we have to use your phone. I stood frozen in fear. Slowly and silently, I backed away from the door. Lucy, my dog, still cowering at my ankles. She began commanding, almost hostile. We are not going to hurt you. If we wanted to do that, we would have broken in. I'll ask again, may we come in and U use your phone? The girl said. Lucy snarled at the door, and I inched backward. Though something inside me seemed to be slowly pulling me back towards the door. It wasn't a physical pulling so much as a subconscious need to go back and let them in. The Reddit user says she didn't go back to sleep that night and hasn't slept right since. Course not now. Of course, the Internet is full of people claiming to have seen ghost aliens, and even more implausibly, Elvis presley alive and breathing by your tongue. Elvis is alive. Nobody has explained what these supposed black eyed children are or why they knock on people's doors at night. But on the off chance these creepy kids are real, we're betting you don't want to meet one, So that always brings to mind. You know, there's some some say that I think it has to do with vampires, the draculas, like they can't enter your home unless you give them permission. You have to invite them in, and that goes with a lot of things, you know, negative energy. I mean you almost allow it possession. They say that you kind of have to allow it needs to be invited, so you know, keep positive, be strong. I guess that's the only way to get over on these creepy little things. Man. Jeez, now, you guys, let me know what you think the black eyed kids are. Are they demons? Are they hybrid aliens? You hear it all, But I mean, I guess their eyes could be that of like the classic gray with the dark ink black eyes. You know, I don't know. Again, shoot me an email. That's going to be it for today. Hope you guys enjoyed. I will bring you some more of the spooky once I get this new podcast all sorted out.
